Welcome
August 21, 2007
Welcome to Women to Israel (W2I)! W2I is promising to be something truly special. The Lappin Foundation is proud to coordinate this first-of-its kind trip for Jewish women of the North Shore. We recognize the priceless contribution Jewish women make in helping to keeping our children Jewish. Experiencing Israel up close and personal is another way to accomplish this important mission.
The excitement is building as we plan this adventure. For some, W2I will be a repeat visit to Israel; for many, it will be their first time. Either way traveling as a community of Jewish women will enrich and enhance your visit to Israel, our homeland. We will tour together, and laugh, sing and dance together as we walk in the footsteps of not only our ancestors, but of your children, many of whom have already been to Israel. (And let’s not forget the shopping!) All along the way, we will meet Jewish women from all walks of Israeli society. Whether this is your first time or a repeat visit, being in Israel with each other will be wonderful.
Visiting Israel is special in and of itself. Being in Israel during Yom Ha-Shoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), Yom Ha-Zikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day), and Yom Ha-Atzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day), will be extraordinary. You will come to understand the true meaning of Israel’s existence.
Oranim Educational Initiatives, our partner in Israel, is very excited about planning this adventure for you. They are busily getting ready to welcome you home and show you the beauty of Israel. Like all who have gone before you, they hope you, too, will fall in love.
This site will be filled with updates and pictures for your family and friends to see as you travel throughout the country. In the coming months, you will receive all the necessary information for the trip and most of it will be posted on this site as well.
For each of you in W2I, next year in Jerusalem will have new meaning. Our trip to Israel will take place immediately after Passover when you will be well on your way for a visit “home”. May 5768 be a year of wonderful adventures and miracles around every corner.
Sincerely,
Robert Israel Lappin
