Itinerary
FEB 27 (Su) Depart USA (NY)
Meet at Terminal 4 in JFK for your flight to Israel.
El Al flight LY022 departs at 1:50 PM.
FEB 28 (Mo) Arrival/Jerusalem/David Citadel Museum (Sheheyanu and visit)/Old Wall Promenade/King David's Tomb/Old City/Southern Wall Excavations/Kotel
7:00 AM early morning arrival in Ben Gurion airport (Terminal 3). Ascend to Jerusalem to David Citadel by Jaffa Gate. From top of Fazael Tower view the city of Jerusalem and say Sheheyanu. Visit some of the unique city models in the museum. Walk the Old City Wall Promenade from Jaffa Gate to Zion Gate. Visit King David's Tomb, founder of Jerusalem and re-enter the old city via Zion Gate.
Walk the streets of the Jewish Quarter to learn about the Roman Cardo, about the Wide Wall (First Temple Period) and the various synagogues. Descend the Western Hill to explore the Southern Wall excavations and finalize your visit at the Kotel.

MAR 01 (Tu) Jerusalem/Tel Jezrael/Beit Shean/Gesher/Hamat Gader/Merom Golan
07:00 Depart Jerusalem to drive north to Caesarea visit the ancient Harbor city built by Herod the Great. Continue to drive by ancient city of Megiddo. Stop at Tel Jezrael to learn about Ahab and the Navoth's vineyard. View the Gilboa Mountain to better understand King Saul last battle with the Philistines. Continue to Beit Shean a fully reconstructed Roman city.
Drive to Gesher, a pre-statehood settlement and learn about the hardship of settling in the country. Stop at Hamat Gader hot springs to enjoy a swim.
Continue to Kibbutz Hagoshrim for overnight

MAR 02 (We) Merom Golan/Mount Bental/Lilach Outpost/Banias Hike/Tzfat/Tel Aviv
Before departing the Golan ascend to Mount Bental for a view into Syria and the ghost town of Kuneitra. Continue north on the foot of Mount Hermon to an army outpost overlooking Lebanon. Enjoy a short hike along one of Jordan River tributaries and ascend to Tzfat - city of Jewish mysticism. Continue to Tel Aviv, the city that never stops.
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Enjoy, with your Israeli Colleagues, a special educational session on
"The challenges of Jewish Reform Education in Israel" led by Malka Osheroff-Gerzon, Director of Education Department, Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism (IMPJ).

Evening: Old Jaffa stroll and Art Galleries

MAR 03 (Th) Tel Aviv/Independence Hall/Massada (long drive)/Dead Sea/ Jerusalem
Start your day with an educational session at the Hall of Independence where Ben Gurion declared the State of Israel.
Depart Tel Aviv for a long distance drive to Massada. Ascend and descend the natural rock fortress to experience the situation at the last stronghold of the Zealots in their revolt against the Romans in the year 73 CE.
Enjoy a float on the waters of the Dead Sea and ascend to Jerusalem via the Judean desert
Evening: Session on Holocaust

MAR 04 (Fr) Yad Vashem/Mount Herzel/Hebrew Union College/Kotel
Start the day with a session at Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial site.
Continue to Mount Herzel where all the nation's leaders are buried.
Meet at Hebrew Union College for a session and a farewell visit to the Kotel

Enjoy a Shabbat at leisure with a walking tour of the new neighborhoods of Jerusalem.

Depart for airport to catch a flight to the USA
