SUGGESTED PACKING LIST
The weather in Israel will vary. The temperature can vary from the 30s in the winter to as high as in the 80s-90s and above in the summer. Utilize the internet to keep updated with the weather in Israel. Please bring enough clothes for the entire trip, since laundry is not available during the program.
Here are some recommendations:
WOMEN: Long skirt for holy sites (pants are acceptable)
MEN: Kepah
Long-sleeved shirts (Winter)
Short-sleeved shirts
Sweater/sweatshirt
Jeans/Khakis
Pants (athletic-type for outdoor activities)
Outfit that can get dirty (for archaeological dig)
Bathing Suit
Shorts
Nice outfit for Shabbat and going out
Socks
Underwear
Comfortable walking shoes
Water sandals (shoes you don't mind getting wet) - not flip-flops (must be shoe with strap around back of ankle, e.g. Tevas)
1 Bath towel
Jacket (rain jacket)/Coat (Winter)
Hat
Alarm clock
Electrical current adapter (for hair dryer, shaver, etc.)
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Glasses/contact lenses
Backpack
Medications
Small duffel bag (packed empty to carry home gifts/souvenirs acquired)

* Linens and pillows will be provided at accommodation sites
* Sleeping bags and mattresses will be provided at Bedouin tent
$$$ - Suggested amount of spending money: $150-200 USD/$250-300 CDN should be sufficient. ATM cards and credit cards are generally accepted in Israel, and provide good exchange rates. Traveler's checks may also be used. Participants should not use Israeli bonds - it is time consuming and the type of documentation for cashing the bonds is usually missing and the bonds are therefore not accepted.
