Solomon Schechter Regional High School
Italy & Israel Discovery
February 16-28, 2005
Welcome
Dear Schechter Regional High School Families,
We've made it! At last, our 9th and 10th grade students are on the trip to Rome and Israel that we've planned since before SRHS opened its doors. Rome plays a key role in our Jewish history and in the World history students are studying. Our heritage and our prayers come to life on the cobbled streets of Jerusalem and atop the mighty fortress of Masada. The Ghetto Fighters Kibbutz, Yad Vashem and Mount Herzl bring modern history to life. In Nahariya and the Western Galilee, students are making new friends, serving others, hearing what Israelis talk about, and enjoying the natural beauty of the region.
We have worked with Oranim to create an itinerary that is an exciting mix of fun, spirituality and learning. From the Rosh Hanikra, Nahariya, and the mystical city of Safed in the north to modern Tel Aviv and the ancient alleyways of Jerusalem's old city, to a Bedouin feast in the desert near the Dead Sea, we are living the Israeli experience.
Follow our itinerary, see your children on this website, and watch our joy at being b'aaretz, at last!
